The concept "One World – One Health" has been rapidly developing recently. Albert Osterhaus is one of the most prominent scholars of this concept. In his works and speeches, he has repeatedly noted that complex mutual links among various biological species (incl. humans) led to the formation of so-called interfaces (i. e. a system to interact with the external world), which work on the basis of "animal-to-animal" and "human-to-human" principle and operate as a platform for cross-species transmission of a huge number of pathogens, with their further adaptation to new hosts.
